This trip begins on National Road 14, where we can see the arms of the araucarias open to the sky, in the municipality of San Pedro.

There we can find the Yabotí Biosphere Reserve and the Cruce Caballero, Esmeralda, Saltos del Moconá, Piñalito, and Araucarias provincial parks, natural protected areas which, combined, preserve the biodiversity of over 250,000 hectares of Paranaense Jungle and Paraná Pines.

Each one of these parks is home to dozens of flora and fauna species, many of them endangered. Those bold enough can choose to go through Provincial Road 21, a dirt road, to the Moconá Falls.

A few kilometres to the south, San Vicente and Dos de Mayo offer tourist resorts with a few falls and jungle areas in some cases, and pools and wide landscapes in others. Lodging options include hotels, cabins, jungle lodges, and camping grounds.

Tips: Spend the necessary time reading the environmental recommendations laid down at each site, listen to park rangers’ indications, and let yourself be mesmerized by the pristine scenery.
